My first image consists of 2 windows, which I opened up with an x-acto knife in order to portray another image behind it. I did this because to viewers it appears that the opening of the windows is portraying another image, emotion, and story. My goal with this image was to capture the light and shadows within the room, and to place an image behind the windows that conveyed the correct idea. Moving forward from this image, I learned that my future images will best benefit if the images behind the openings make sense, and aren’t just random pictures
My second image was a photo taken from a particular angle to capture the ceiling damage of the building. I then opened up the window and used an image of a creepy, scared woman in order to further illustrate my theme of dark, abandonment.
The third image has four windows, and I chose to open up two of the windows, placing images behind them. Moving forwards, I would have taken this image from a different angle.
My last image image was of an abandoned house, featuring 3 windows. I opened up the middle window and used an image of a girl I took last year. This picture behind the window fit better since the dark lighting matched up well with the windows in front.
Second Quarter:
My first image features an old abandoned outhouse with a window in the upper left corner with a shadow of a woman. I continued to experiment with capturing images inside rather than outside.
My second image is of a split doorway featuring shadows and an opened center piece creating an illusion. This was slightly darker than i wanted my concentration to be, but this piece has sparked further ideas.
My third image is of a archway feating a door in the distance. I opened up the pillars creating a look as if the viewer was standing in the distance looking into the distant doorway. This is an idea and process that i plan to expand on in my upcoming images.
The fourth piece is an opened paneled window featuring a shadow outline of a individual in the distance, creating another piece with an aspect of viewing into another space.
Third Quarter:
My first image utilizes shadows to create a sense of uncertainty. It requires viewers to question what emotions would be portrayed on the woman face if her facial features, especially her eyes were visible to us. The image of the woman in the second shot, captures an in-between moment of her intentionally hiding her face behind the building. Ultimately suggesting to viewers the discretion of who she is, and what details about her character and personality many have been exposed if her character was viewed in whole.
Image three captures part of a facial expression which gives viewers some insight into the woman's soul through the use of only exposing one eye. If the image were to have exposed the full face, we might have more opinions on the individuals background. The positioning of the eye suggests the individuals personal thoughts as she is glancing up, and It is almost as if she is looking up to someone to give her guidance.
The fourth image captures a reflection through a window of young girl who is asking viewers through the use of her heads positioning and glance, to analyze her character and come up with their own opinions.
